Please welcome "Miss Spring" to the Arnold Senior Center! Spring is a 6 year old yellow lab, and a therapy dog who will be visiting us on

Thursday mornings. She and her owner, Julie Ridgeway, are volunteers with People and Animals Who Serve (P.A.W.S) of Anne Arundel County, Therapy pets and their owners volunteer in the county working

together as a team to bring comfort and unconditional love to the people they meet. This means for Spring, you are able to pet her and

she loves making everyone's day a little brighter! Spring does enjoy an occasional treat but please ask before feeding her. She will be visiting the classrooms and common areas to all who want to say "hi".

JANUARY 27TH -- SOUL FOOD MONDAY

It's a new year, so let's start it off right! This month we need you to do three things:

1. Get a new key tag! January will be KEY TAG AMNESTY MONTH. If your key tag is lost, or cracked, you may get a new key tag for this month only. However, if you have already had at least two replacement tags, you will not be eligible. If you fall into this category, please request your key tag number from the front office and write it down so you can actually type in the number to sign in. These key tags can be costly for us to keep replacing.

2. More importantly, don't forget to scan your membership key tag each time you are at the Center. All daily activities are listed on the screen. Touch the activities for the day and don't forget to press "complete". We know there are many times when the screens are down, but that makes it all the more important to sign in when they ARE operational. Our funds are dependent upon this!

3. PLEASE check with the front office staff to make sure your contact information AND your emergency contact information is up to date in our database. The worst case scenario is for you to need emergency services at the Center, and we cannot contact a loved one for you.

The ASI Silent Auction in November was a GREAT success raising more than $7,500.00 for the Center. Who could have guessed that there could be so many creative BASKETS, GIFT CERTIFICATES, and ITEMS for our pleasure & enjoyment. Thanks to all who helped with gathering & soliciting gift items, set-up, tallying, check-out & cleanup! And, thank you to the community businesses and individuals who donated to the Auction.

This is the monthly Arnold Seniors, Inc (ASI) news column. ASI is the Arnold Senior Center's fund-raising board, and we will be giving you monthly updates of our fundraising activities.

Thanks, too, to all who participated in the November Restaurant Fundraiser for breakfast at The Breakfast Shoppe-Severna Park. We made $36.00 for ASI and the Breakfast Shoppe rounded it up to a $50.00 contribution.

Our next Restaurant Fundraiser will be at The Point Crab House & Grill

Grille, 700 Mill Creek Rd. in Arnold on Monday, January 13th from 4-10 PM. This will be a special one be-

cause we will receive 10% of the total restaurant sales for the evening!

We are seeking volunteers to serve on the Board, to actively work to plan and carry out fundraisers, and

to help throughout the Center. We also need volunteers for the SNACK BAR if we are going to be able to

continue operation. And we need volunteers at the FRONT DESK and with Marketing the Center.

PLEASE VOLUNTEER!
