INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
1. TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
You will receive a round trip e-ticket from the BecA Hub for your travel to Arusha and back to your home country. Please note that once you confirm your route and travel dates, the ticket will be issued. Any change made after confirmation will incur additional fees at the participants’ expense.
2. PASSPORT AND VISA INFORMATION
a) Foreign nationals must have passports valid for at least six months longer than the validity of their stay and in some cases visas are required.
b) A certificate of yellow fever vaccination is required for entry into Tanzania.
c) Visa requirements:
• Nationals of Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda do not require any visa.
• Nationals of Burundi, Cameroon, DRC, Madagascar and Sudan can get their visas on arrival at a cost of USD 50
• Nationals of Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia and S. Sudan require a referral visa, I will advise on the way forward. Please consult the following website or your local Tanzanian embassy ( )
Please carry a copy of your workshop invitation letter.
NB: Those requiring prior visa authorization, please ensure that you print and carry a copy of the authorization document sent to you to facilitate visa issuance at the airport.
3. ACCOMMODATION
Participants will stay at the Planet Lodge which is located close to the NM-AIST. Room reservations will be made at the Lodge according to the flight information for each participant. Accommodation will be paid directly by the BecA Hub. Extra services (such as room service, laundry, phone calls) will not be covered by the BecA Hub and must be settled by the participant before departure.
4. ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES
Airport transfers will be arranged for each participant by Planet Lodge in liaison with the BecA Hub. Upon exiting the customs area on arrival at the airport, please look out for the driver holding a placard with your name or BecA-Hub on it. In case of flight delays or an emergency regarding transport to and from the airport, we can be reached on +255 -686141670, +255-767552953
5. MEALS
All meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner) will be provided for the participants at the cafeteria located within NM-AIST and also at the Lodge.
6. WORKSHOP VENUE
The workshop will take place in an auditorium at the NM-AIST Campus.
7. CURRENCY
The currency in Tanzania is Tanzanian Shillings. The hotel can also handle currency exchange.
8. INCIDENTALS
Workshop participants from visa paying countries will receive an incidental amount of $150 to cover visa cost, ground transportation and en-route incidentals within their respective countries. Participants from non-visa paying countries will receive an incidental amount of $100 to cover ground transportation and en-route incidentals in their respective countries.
9. WEATHER
November is commonly cold and rainy with sunny spells. The temperature varies between 12°C and 22°C. Warm clothing may be needed during evenings and at night to cope with the dramatic temperature change.
10. TIME ZONE
Tanzania is in the GMT Zone (+3 hrs)
11. INTERNET
Internet access facilities are available free of charge at the Lodge from 8 am to 11 pm daily.
12. LAPTOPS
Please bring your own laptops with you so that you can access online training materials and software for the course. Also bring an adapter as indicated below.
13. ELECTRICITY
Electricity is 220V, and sockets/plugs are three square pin - UK plug.
