Art, Wellness, Academics Enrichment Program Position Type:40 hours/week, Salaried, Exempt – some evening and weekend hours Pay Scale:$42,000 FLIPANY is a 501c (3) non-profit, community-based agency that fosters healthy lives through nutrition education, physical activity, and wellness initiatives. FLIPANY is proud to service South Florida (Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Monroe Counties). Our innovative programs support community wide wellness initiative. Art, Wellness, Academics Enrichment Programs infuses healthy cooking courses, fitness, film & stage production, chorus, and dance to engage students in reading instruction, social emotional learning and homework help. Position Overview: Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, the Site Director is responsible for ensuring a safe, fun, and high quality out- of school experience for a minimum 60 children in grades K-5 who are enrolled in our on-site program. The Site Director is responsible for actively supervising all day-to-day activities of the program to ensure that it is operating according to the quality standards established by FLIPANY, the Department of Children and Families, and The Children’s Trust. This position is year-round. The Site Director?responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Credentials and Professional Development:Stay informed on DCF Guidelines, Children’s Trust requirements, and CDC Covid Policies; Ensure policies are followed by all relevant parties and that required professional development courses are current.Maintain DCF credentialsPartner Collaborations and Staff Oversight:Collaborate with contracted partners as required for program success. Collaborate with contract partner to hire and train staff. Lead and record weekly progress meetings with team Oversight of staff during class instruction, and of staff schedules. Manage the programs staff and consultants effectively, and complete written quarterly observationEnsure all staff retain current professional development courses Communicate needed improvements to contract partners When needed, supervise and instruct a classroom of students (maintaining the 15:1 ratio)Ensure staff implement pre- mid-, and posttests by established deadlines, as required by funder, and demonstrate improvements in student progress.Recruitment, Enrollment, Attendance and Engagement:Recruit, enroll and maintain a minimum of 65 students committed and engaged in the program Establish relationships with local community agencies and schools. Establish strong positive relationship with parents/guardians of students.Develop and implement a daily and weekly program schedule filled with safe, fun and enriching programming. Identify and cultivate relevant partnerships to enhance our in-house programming. Manage enrollment, billing, and parent communications.Serve as primary point of contact for parents and school staff. Collaborate with the Business Development Department to create outreach materials; disseminate material. Administrative Duties Retain accurate student files that are current and organized; Retain SAMIS current and accurateKeep accurate attendance records, sign-in sheets, test scores, etc., and other supporting documents directed by grant funders and/or Senior Management. Prepare and retain program spreadsheets current and accurate. Work with direct supervisor to implement process sheets, procedures, and systems when and where needed.Manage supplies and space needs; Ensure spaces are clean and secure (windows locked, lights out, etc.) at the end of the day. Submit required paperwork for reimbursements monthly, by the 5th of the month.Prepare quarterly reports/stories (pictures, quotes, etc.) for grant reports Work occasional evenings and weekends when neededBe flexible, work under tight deadlines, and work effectively under pressureWork cooperatively and maintain a positive rapport with FLIPANY staff, board members, and volunteers.Other duties as directed by supervisor.Qualifications & Key Attributes of a Strong Candidate:Bilingual, fluent in Spanish and EnglishHave DCF Director’s CredentialsBachelor’s Degree or 2 years’ experience directing a childcare setting and supervising a team. Experience w/ and passion for working with elementary school children in a school or out-of-school setting. Excellent organizational, managerial, administrative and communication skillsStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office Product: (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.) & SAMISAn effective leader that leads by example and motivates staff. A deep understanding of what high quality out-of-school programming looks like and a belief in its ability to positively impact children.
