Incoming First Grade Summer Activities

Write a few sentences about something you enjoyed doing

over the summer. Illustrate your writing. Bring this to your

first grade teacher the first week of school.

Write down the titles of your top ten favorite books you

read over the summer. Bring this list to your teacher too.

Practice writing your letters and numbers. Use the ZanerBloser guide and be sure you are writing from the top

down.

Practice working quietly on an activity for 10-15 minutes a

few times a week in preparation for the first grade

experience.

Practice your ¡°bone¡± words.

Practice self-care skills such as tying shoes, buttoning

clothes, tucking in shirts, taking responsibility for

belongings, etc.

Have a wonderful, safe and fun-filled summer! We can¡¯t

wait to meet you. ?
