Bed Scarf Instructions

(As seen in Southern Lady Magazine May/June 2015) For the face of the bed scarf, cut and seam fabric pieces as shown below according to your bed size. If your fabric has a directional print or motif, you will need to put seams as shown in the following drawings. You do not have to seam the lining (back side) of the scarf.

Cut a piece of cornice padding/batting (available at ) according to your bed size. (see above). For example, for a twin, you would cut the batting 18"x69".

Batting

Place the batting on the wrong side of the face fabric and pin.

Wrong side of Face Fabric Stitch the batting to the face fabric close to the edge of the fabric (less than ?") around all sides.

Place lining and face fabric right sides together. Lining FaFcaecFeaFbarbicric

Using a ?" seam allowance, stitch around entire bed scarf, leaving a 6" opening so that you can turn the bed scarf right side out.

Trim seams close to the stitching. Turn right side out and press. Hand-stitch the small opening.

Add trim or fringe to each end of the bed scarf, if desired.
