¡°Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word

that proceeds out of the mouth of God.¡±

you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but

on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD. 4 Your clothes did not wear out

Most of us live by our own wits and bootstraps. We do everything in a humanistic earthly

ways. We expect no miracles and so we get none. We have adopted Ben Franklin¡¯s old

adage, ¡°God helps those who help themselves,¡± which is not Biblical, nor true. God loves

to show himself strong on behalf of those who wait on Him.

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself

strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.

2 Chronicles 16:9

Why do we eat crumbs from God¡¯s table when we are His children and have every right

to eat at the banquet table from heaven? Why do we live like paupers when God has

called us princes? Why do we beg God like orphans when he calls us sons and daughters

of the King? Why do we go without when God has promised us all that we need? Is it

not that we do not know his promises, nor his great and unfailing love toward us?

1. Isaiah 65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and

3. Promises for Provisions

1. Philippians 4:19 My God will supply all your needs according to His riches in

glory in Christ Jesus.

2. Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

3. John 15:7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish,

and it will be done for you.

4. John 16:23-24 In that day you will not question Me about anything. Truly, truly, I

say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you.

Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so

that your joy may be made full.

5. Psalm 37:25. I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous

forsaken or their children begging bread. 26. They are always generous and lend

freely; their children will be blessed.

6. Psalm 34: 9. Fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing.

10. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no

good thing.

7. Philippians 4:19. And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious

riches in Christ Jesus.

wicked.

3. James 2:5 Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world

to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love

Him?

4. Ecclesiastes 4:6 One hand full of rest is better than two fists full of labor and

striving after wind.

5. Proverbs 17:5 He who mocks the poor taunts his maker; He who rejoices at

calamity will not go unpunished.

6. Psalm 12:5 Because of the devastation of the afflicted, because of the groaning of

the needy, now I will rise, says the LORD; I will set him in the safety for which

he longs.
