If your child’s teacher has recommended that your child take math and/or reading homeroom during summer school, we strongly recommend that you take advantage of this opportunity. Registration after April 10 will take place at Madison Elementary School. Summer School Office Hours are 8:00 am to 3:30 pm April – June 12, and 8:00 am to 12:30 pm June 15 – July 17 Jackson Drop Off and Pick Up – Parents can drop off and pick up students on the west side of North 18 Street or east of the staff parking lot on Menasha Avenue. Buses will drop off and pick up students on the east side of North 18 Street; please do not stop or pick up your child on this side of the road since it is a no stopping/parking zone and you could be ticketed.Medical History Information (located on the back of the Registration Form) - You MUST complete this form if your child does NOT attend the MPSD. If your child is a student of the MPSD we have the health information on file; please only complete this portion if there are changes to your child’s health record.Consent to Administer Medication - If your child requires medication to be administered to them while at summer school, please call to have a consent form mailed to your home. All medication must be in the proper containers and labeled.Participants – Summer School is open to all students who live within the boundaries of the Manitowoc Public School District (public or private school students, including home schooled students) and students open-enrolled into the district.Class Locations – Class locations are listed by building in the Session 1, 2 & Special Class tables. Classes offered at the various buildings are located directly below the heading. Room numbers and directions to the classrooms will be posted at the main entrance of each building on the first day of each session.Registration Fee / Cancellation – Fees to help defray the cost of supplies are included in the session tables. All fees must accompany the registration and are NON-REFUNDABLE unless a course is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment or the class is full. Checks should be made payable to the MPSD.Fees will be held until registrations or cancellations are confirmed. Refunds will be mailed once the registration process is complete.Additional fees will apply for non-residential students. We discourage bringing expensive bicycles to school.TransportationIn an effort to allow more children to attend the program, the district will provide a free shuttle bus service. This course is also for the student who wants to continue his/her studies throughout the summer months. Students may sign up for Period 1 (8:00am – 10:00am) or Period 2 (10:05am – 12:05pm).
