(1) Position Statement: The Director is a full time 40 hour per week position. This position supervises the Assistant Director Vocational Services, Supported Employment Services, Companion Services, ADT Transportation and Habilitation Specialists and is responsible for Contract work, Training Programs, Implementation Plan Development, Program Development and overall operation and supervision of the workshop.

(4) Key Working Relationships:

(a) Internal: All Directors, Assistant Directors, Program Coordinators, Home Coordinators, Supervisors, Administrative Assistants, Clerical, Program and Residential staff.

(b) External: Parents, Guardians, Community and Group Home Providers, Support Coordinators, Agency for Persons with Disabilities and affiliates.

(5) Education & Experience Requirements.

(a) Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Masters preferred.

(b) Experience: Five (5) years supervising in Developmental Disability or Human Services field. Strong program development and activities skills required. A must have excellent writing, communication and computer skill.

Position Title: Dir. Voc. Services

SPECIFIC DUTIES

1. Maintain a professional image conducive to the business environment, representing UCP in a positive manner in all facets of the position. Work closely with the Director of Adult Programs and services in insuring that all adult services and programs are met in a time orientated and effective way.

2. Participate in developing and implementing programming for all day program participants. Prioritize program needs and staff assignments. Assist in developing and implementation of all indoor and outdoor activities.

3. Conduct intake process in gathering relevant information regarding applicants and referrals from APD. Assist in identifying adults who will be considered for ADT, SE and Companion services. Keep referral sources and applicants informed of the assessment process.

4. Establish all Adult Day Program records in accordance with UCP and APD standards. Ensure the performance of functional assessments/Profiles for all adult service programs. Secure initial admission Profile Sheet for new consumers (Update annually).

5. Supervise and assist in training all day program staff. Develop weekly schedules and activity assignments.

6. Effectively communicate with participants, families, support coordinators, APD personnel and community affiliates regarding agency services. Conduct liaison services on behalf of all individuals served in day program. Maintain positive professional communication with all inter-departmental staff at UCP.

7. Identify program participants who are interested in establishing groups for improving quality of services in day program.

8. Ensure transport of all contract or community integration programs as needed, supervise and monitor quality control in production packing and facilitate all record keeping related to contract work. Insure production staff is counting arrival and departure of contract supplies via ongoing communication with contractor. Address all contract issues with vendors.

9. Assist in securing all time studies on all contract tasks as well as follow department of labor law requirements regarding hourly wage rates by completing and submitting reports timely. Conduct payroll/computer accounting and maintain record system for employees and day program participants.

10. Supervise all day program staff. Conduct counseling and or disciplinary with staff supervised when necessary. Assist in teaching and training staff in addressing behavioral incidents. Plan and coordinate regular staff meetings and agency In-service days. Prepare Annual Calendar.

11. Communicate with Direct supervisor daily and report all incidents. Provide backup coverage for absent staff in the absence of Assistant Vocational Director. Complete time and leave Kronos Reports.

12. Establish all Adult Day Program records in accordance with UCP and APD standards.

- Ability and skill in utilizing desktop computer in developing programs as well as entering and reviewing data.

- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, using the English language, with or without the use of auxiliary aids of services. Be able to work cooperatively with all agency personnel and community affiliates.

- May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties. Be able to lift up to 50 pounds as well as utilize various types of equipment and devices in order to facilitate individual mobility.

- Ability to work well independently as well as be able to collaboratively engage in conduct conflict resolution.

- Maintain Florida Driver’s License current. Be able to transports in wheelchair accessible vans. Must posses own transportation vehicle. Be able to drive all United Cerebral Palsy vehicles with or without adaptive equipment.

- Must be flexible in schedule and prepared to assist with all emergencies, including attending special events and working some weekends.

- Maintains all central files, annual IP calendars for all day program services, makes notification of all Pre IP meetings one month in advance and conducts IP meetings for all day program services.

- Secures and maintains all documentation updated with all IP packets and consents annually. Maintains and adheres to confidentiality of all consumer information.

- Performs all other duties as assigned
