Digestive System ProjectObjective: To learn about the organs and the processes of the Human Digestive System. Procedure: As a group of 2 or 3, you will create a poster diagram of the human digestive system. This needs to be a neat and clearly labeled representation of this system. See the Scoring Rubric on the back!Once the poster has been created, you will each pick an organ in this system to investigate further. The organs you have to choose from are the liver, pancreas, stomach, small and large intestine (combined as one topic), and gall bladder. Each member is to write a 2 page, double spaced, typed paper about the functions, responsibilities and possible malfunctions of the organ they have chosen. Some of the questions that should be considered are:Where is this organ located? What part does your organ play in the whole digestive process? If it does not do its job what are the possible consequences? What are some diseases that can cause problems for this organ? Is there something medically available to help your body overcome a possible malfunction or disease? Can a person live without this organ? Once each member has completed their individual reports, you will come back together and add a brief description to each organ on your poster. In the end, each organ should have a brief description by it, even the ones that did not have a “report” written about them. Divvy up the writing for those remaining organs among the group. Grading Criteria: You will be graded both as a group and as an individual on this project. The diagram is everyone’s responsibility and you will all get the same credit for the poster that is turned in. The individual reports will be graded independently of one another. STEPS TO SUCCESS:1. Get supplies for poster.2. Decide on layout (remember, you must represent the entire system with labels & then add descriptions of 5 of the organs)!3. Work together to complete the poster & labeling following the guidelines given on the scoring rubric.4. Work independently on researching and completing your report on your chosen/assigned organ.5. Print 2 copies of your report. 1 gets turned-in, the other is used for step 6.6. Prepare and incorporate a brief description of your assigned organ.7.
