Alpharetta - Morningside of Alpharetta is a beautiful, safe and friendly community offering spacious personal care living apartments and a Five Star, award winning bridge to rediscovery program for people with Alzheimer’s or related dementias. They do have a volunteer option (please see Beth for more information) and accept donations for their Birthday Bash or Bingo prizes. Items such as large print word search or crossword books, cozy socks, blank note cards, pens, Valentines or St. Patrick’s Day items, Mardi Gras beads, etc. Please drop off your donations with Beth Calvin.Cerritos - Cerritos Senior Center at Pat Nixon Park provides a place for senior citizens to socialize, participate in educational and recreational programs and receive social services. While they do not take donations, they do allow for individual volunteer time (not as a group). The ask is that you sign up to volunteer to serve meals. Here is the link for volunteer sign-ups: . And, if allowed, please take pictures to share!Mechanicsburg - Colonial Park Care Center offers short term care and rehab, memory care, and hospice. Here are the items they have asked for: Uno Card Game, Large print playing cards, dominos or tri-ominos, Scrabble, small jigsaw puzzles (100 pieces or less), large beach balls, glue sticks, crayons, colored pencils, large print word search books, crossword puzzle books, and yarn (any type). Please drop off any donations with SueAnn Stone.Oakland - Dimond Care is an assisted living facility in Oakland that offers activities at their location for residents. These activities generally allow residents to maintain healthy lifestyles by encouraging movement and socializing with their peers. The items they need donated are toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, and socks. Please drop off your donations with Colette Radford.Rancho Cordova - Almond Avenue Residence Club is an assisted living facility in Orangevale. The director expressed that they have basic hygiene items that are needed on a regular basis for those who don’t have them provided by their families. Things like shaving cream, nail care (including polish), shampoo/conditioner, cotton balls, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. Please drop off your donations with Kristen Stoll.San Francisco - The mission of the St. Francis Living Room is to improve the quality of life for low income and homeless seniors in the Tenderloin. They have asked for donations towards their breakfast distribution. These items include creamy peanut butter, jelly, bottled juices, oatmeal, brown sugar, white sugar, raisins, and plastic spoons. Please drop your donations off with Allison Treber.Texas – The Oasis in Lewisville, TX is an organization that works with early stage Alzheimer’s and Dementia patients. They are asking for volunteers to come in and lead an exercise, music, or craft activity. And they also accept donations such as puzzles, small crafts, and memory stimulating activities.
