05:30 AM - Westwood:
"The UCLA Health System, the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, and the UCLA Schools of Public Health, Nursing, and Dentistry are now participating in the largest earthquake drill in US history. Again, this is an earthquake drill. This is not a real earthquake.
"All available faculty, staff, and students are requested to take protective positions (drop, cover, and hold on), for 30 seconds, followed by usual post-earthquake immediate activities according to your local emergency plan. This is an earthquake drill."
“All clinical personnel engaged in active patient care activities should continue with these functions. Please utilize this exercise to determine how you would respond in the case of a true emergency. Again, this is an earthquake drill.
“All patients and visitors are encouraged to participate as feasible. Again, drop, cover, and hold on until this emergency drill is completed. Again, this is only a drill and there is no danger to you.”
5:30 AM - Santa Monica:
“The Santa Monica – UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital are now participating in the largest earthquake drill in US history. Again, this is an earthquake drill. This is not a real earthquake.

All Units and departments, please report your disaster assessment forms to the Nursing Staffing Office”
