ARCHCARE AT FERNCLIFF APPOINTS CHARISSA BROWN TO DIRECTOR OF NEW CENTER

RHINEBECK, NY, July 6, 2015 – ArchCare at Ferncliff Nursing Home, a

state-of-the-art healthcare facility in Rhinebeck, New York, today

announced that it has named Charissa Brown director of its new Center

for Neurodegenerative Care. Brown, who previously served as a social

worker at Ferncliff, rejoins from the Daughters of Sara Senior Community

in Albany, New York, where she was a case manager.

In her new role, Brown will oversee the programmatic approach for the

38-bed specialized facility, which caters to those with

neurodegenerative diseases including Huntington's and Amyotrophic

Lateral Sclerosis (commonly known as ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease). She

will ensure all staff meet the unique needs of this population and that

families of residents receive the education and support they need.

"We are pleased to welcome Charissa back to Ferncliff and are confident

that her diverse social work background and managerial skill set, as

well as her commitment to compassionate care that is at the heart of our

mission statement, will be an asset in her director position," said Carl

Kelly, executive director at Ferncliff, which is part of ArchCare, the

healthcare system of the Archdiocese of New York.

During her career, Brown has worked in healthcare settings and

non-profit organizations throughout New York. She holds a Master of Social Work

degree from the State University of New York at Albany, a Bachelor's in

Psychology from SUNY Plattsburgh and is a member of the National

Association of Social Workers.
