Dear Ashford Parents,
A warm welcome to our new Ashford families and welcome back to those returning. While it is hard to believe the summer break is over, the feeling of a fresh, new start is exciting. I am looking forward to meeting families, parents, and grandparents (old and new) that would like to get involved with our PTO this school year. We encourage you to not only join our organization, but get involved as well! Thank you, in advance, for all you do to help our children have an exciting year. Questions? Comments? Ideas? Send them to us! ashfordpto@

PTO Meetings
Our monthly meetings will be held on the first Thursday of every month at 8:30 AM in the Teachers' Lounge. Hope to see you there! Can't make it? Just visit Ashford's website at and click on our PTO tab to keep up to date.
Eagle Eats is Thursday, September 20th hosted by 2nd Grade. This is an opportunity for you to show your appreciation to the wonderful teachers and staff by bringing in food for them to eat at lunch and throughout the day! Any items are appreciated from homemade to store and/or restaurant bought. Please see flyer in your child’s back pack for more information and suggested ideas for items to bring. Please bring your item(s) to the front office or teachers lounge by 10:30 am on Thursday. Please email Erin Fisk if you have any questions - pfisk@ Thank you so much for your participation!

Note from our President
Eagle Eats
Every month, we will recognize a parent(s) who go above and beyond to assist our teachers, the school and/or the PTO. Even though the school year has just started – these parents have already gone above and beyond by ending their summer break early to run our PTO Store! A HUGE Thank You to Rachel Makondekwa and Julie Cole who spent every day the last two weeks of summer break managing the store and making sure our kids had what they needed to kick off the school year.

Have you ever noticed the tiny pink Box Tops for Education rectangle on many of the grocery store items you bring home? Get out your scissors out and cut those pink Box Tops, put them in a baggie with your child's name and teacher and put them in our Box Top Mail Box in the front lobby. Last year we rose over $1,000- that’s a lot of Lucky Charms! The student and class with the most Box Tops will win a cool PRIZE! To learn more visit:

Help keep our kids safe! Can you or someone you know commit to working just 30 minutes on a single day or shift each week? We need shifts of 3-4 people each morning from around 7:20-7:45. The shift schedule is fixed, such that one would commit to work the same day(s) each week through the school year. If you are interested in lending a hand, please email sperlsco@.
If you would like to help out and volunteer at Ashford, please be sure to fill out the VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools). These forms were sent home and can also be found in the front office. We need your help! Feel free to contact PTO for more information. This needs to be renewed yearly.
