 5. EMPLOYEE TRAINING Training is a top priority at LaundroTM because the success of the Company depends on dedicated, world class trained people and standardised uniform operations from service station to service station. An ongoing commitment to state of-the-art training is a fundamental part of LaundroTM corporate focus.

6. THE APPLICATION PROCESS Submitting an application does not obligate applicants or LaundroTM in any way. It is simply the first step in a process that is designed to make sure that both parties will be happy joining forces through a franchise arrangement.

Your application will be reviewed and you will be notified, via e-mail, of the review result. Applicants meeting LaundroTM's initial requirements are interviewed and if the interview is favourable, the next steps are followed. Qualifying applicants (QA) agree to successfully complete a minimum 2-3 week training. After the satisfactory completion of the training, if LaundroTM in its sole and absolute discretion continues to regard the applicant as a suitable person in all aspects. They are then to be granted a LaundroTM franchise, the applicant is offered a franchise for a specific storefront. Preference is given to the location of the franchisee. There is no binding obligation on either side until such time as the franchise documentation is executed (signed) by both parties.

6. FRANCHISE COST The cost of a franchise varies - actual costs are only determined when an individual franchise is offered to an applicant. The size of the Laundro, location, pre-opening expenses, inventory, selection of equipment, signage, seating and style of decor and landscaping will affect cost. The estimated cost can be somewhere from R460,000 - R660,000 depending on the type of Laundro and other factors. An applicant must have a minimum of 35% of the purchase price of a Laundro in unencumbered, non-borrowed cash. Institutional finance through e.g. banks can be used to fund the balance (Laundro does not provide financing or loan guarantees nor does it permit any form of borrowing from any third parties for purposes of financing the franchisee's initial 35% contribution). An non-refundable application fee of R15,000 is payable before any application will be processed, and documents verified. This will be deducted from your total costs.

An initial cost of 10% of the total purchase price is payable within 48 hours of signing the Franchising Agreement. This must be prior to any training, store plans, and further steps can be performed. A detailed payment plan will only be provided to Qualifying Applicants (QA).

LaundroTM doesn't confer success on anyone. Nor are any profits guaranteed.

 7. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Do I need to have found a premises/location in order to get a franchise? Having a location is not a requirement for applying for a franchise.

2. I own a premises/location. I would like to become a LaundroTM Franchise located on that site. That works fine, provided the space meets the requirements for a Laundro store. Stores must be between 80m2 to 150m2.

3. I will become the Franchisee but could I nominate someone else run the business? 3.a. LaundroTM requires their Franchisees to devote their best efforts to the day to day running of the business. However, a management team can be appointed and if approved by Laundro Head Office, they can continue running the business. 3.b. You would need to recruit your own management team. i.e. Washbay, logistics and store front manager. 3.c. LaundroTM would train and develop your management team.

4. I have other business interests and would like to continue running them while I am a LaundroTM franchisee. LaundroTM requires their franchisees to devote their best efforts to the running of their LaundroTM. However, a management team can be appointed and if approved by LaundroTM Head Office, they can continue running the business.

5. Would I or my team, be entitled to remuneration from LaundroTM during my training period? You would not be entitled to remuneration.

6. I am only interested in owning a LaundroTM in a particular location, no other. LaundroTM requires Applicants to be "geographically flexible". While the applicant's wishes are a very strong consideration, we cannot guarantee that a LaundroTM in the applicants preferred area will be offered.

7. Is it possible for LaundroTM to sign a guarantee prior to accepting me as a Franchisee in order for me to secure funds from public grants etc.? No. LaundroTM cannot sign guarantees prior to the applicant successfully becoming a Franchisee.

8. Do I have to be from a previously disadvantaged ethnic group to apply for a Franchise with LaundroTM ? Our selection processes are completely non-discriminatory. We value and celebrate diversity.

9. I would like to open a LaundroTM in a territory neighbouring South Africa. All applications meeting the selection criteria will be considered, regardless of region. In, or outside South Africa. Provided all other terms are met.
