The MPLS Program aims to better prepare historically underrepresented students for the LSAT and the law school admissions process. 2015 MPLS Program OverviewAlthough this program comes at no cost to its participants, participants will be asked to submit a $100 seat deposit in the form of a personal check, which is fully refundable upon successful completion of the program. (Note: room and board is not provided; all students are individually responsible for their own accommodations.) Below is a copy of the tentative summer 2015 class schedule. In addition to the class times listed, you will be required to attend a group visit to a law firm in downtown Minneapolis, likely on a Friday afternoon, but the date is TBD. You will be notified of any changes/updates in the schedule as soon as possible. Attendance at all sessions is mandatory. Success in this program is largely dependent on outside study, and students are expected to study 15 – 20 hours a week outside of class. All classes will be held at the University of Minnesota Law School. Classes that start at 3 p.m. will begin with an hour of law school admissions preparation. The remaining portion of class will be taught by a Kaplan instructor and will be dedicated to LSAT preparation and practice exams. Individual appointments will be held on July 9th and 16th between 12:00-4:00pm.Admission to the program is limited to approximately 25 participants and is competitive based on a holistic assessment of the application materials. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Participants will be asked to complete evaluations and surveys at the end of the program and at several points in the future.
