Election Form

Duties:

➢ Preside over opening ceremonies at Statewide Summit

➢ Assist in facilitating the Officers’ Meeting (comprised of members and officers from all NAS Chapters)

➢ Participate in program activities (Brain Bowl, Essay Contest, Statewide Conference, NASOnline)

➢ Submit letter for Statewide Summit program

➢ Serve as State Ambassador for NAS

➢ Report to the Florida Education Fund’s COE Program Director

➢ Perform all duties as assigned

Privileges:

➢ Honorary participant in COE Directors’ Quarterly Meetings

➢ Visibility in state NAS programs

➢ Lifetime Member, NAS

➢ Access to a statewide network of educators

➢ Receipt of Letter of Recommendation for College

Requirements:

➢ Ninth – Eleventh Grade

➢ Active Member of NAS (determined by COE Director)

➢ Member of NAS for at least two years

➢ Completion of community service requirement during membership

➢ Completion of presidential application

➢ Participation as a team member in the Brain Bowl Competition

➢ Submission of an essay for the Laws of Life Essay Contest

➢ Two letters of recommendation submitted to the COE Director on candidate’s behalf (one from an individual in the community and one from a teacher)

➢ Attendance at/participation in NAS Officers Meeting and the Statewide Summit

➢ Address NAS electors at the Statewide Summit (9th – 12th graders)
