Key accountabilities/primary responsibilities% TimeTo assist and support the Head of Payroll and Pensions and the HR Systems Manager in the development and maintenance of the HR, Payroll and Pensions system.10 %To review the HR, Payroll and Pensions system’s procedures and processes, ensuring they are up to date and fit for purpose. Identifying and recommending automated solutions to enhance procedural efficiency, data accuracy and management information including the development and maintenance of Pension Customer Specified Procedures (CSP’s) within the system.50 %To project manage the implementation, testing and release of agreed system changes to all relevant users ensuring agreed standards and deadlines are met.10%To co-ordinate and lead on Pensions and Payroll User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of system upgrades and software installations. To be responsible for resolving any issues arising and ensuring resolutions are actioned. 10 %To organise and provide training on new/amended system functionality to users ensuring test scripts and up to date user documentation are maintained. 10%To attend Payroll and Pension team, HR Systems team and client meetings as required.5 %Any other duties requested by the Line Manager following consultation with the post holder.5 %Internal and external relationshipsLiaising with teams and individuals within the Finance and HR departments and across the University to provide systems support and development.Building good relationships with Finance and HR customers.Working closely with software suppliers to ensure the HR, Payroll and Pensions system is fully functional and fit for purpose.Projecting a ‘can do’ attitude and a pro-active way of working.Special RequirementsNonePERSON SPECIFICATIONCriteriaEssentialDesirableHow to be assessedQualifications, knowledge and experienceHNC, A level, NVQ 3 or equivalent in Mathematics or computing proven equivalent relevant qualification or experience. Ability to apply comprehensive understanding of specialist processes and procedures to accurately analyse and interpret complex quantitative and qualitative data, presenting summary information in a clear and concise format.Experience of using HR Payroll systems and HR processes.Experience of providing a front line systems support to customers. Working knowledge of MS Office including detailed understanding of Excel.Experience of producing organisational data returns and user guidance notes.Experience of using ResourceLink, including system administration.
