Position: R&D Project Manager Starting: January 2015 Department: Research and Development Reports to: Director of R&D

JOB PURPOSE:

HAPPYFAMILY is seeking an experienced R&D Project Manager. The R&D Production Manager is responsible for those activities necessary to lead: new product introductions from concept to release, new supplier development, project organization, project budget reviews, sales and marketing collaboration, and coordination of production at contract manufacturers to ensure that products are produced efficiently, in budget, and on time while meeting or exceeding quality standards.

HAPPYFAMILY has a diverse product portfolio with a high level of complexity and specificity in terms of products, projects, and technologies. This position will be responsible for executing on challenging projects and providing technical expertise to bring successful new products to market.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Define, develop, plan and manage highest priority R&D projects and product development initiatives

Participate in product quality assurance processes, product forecasting and initial inventory management, competitive price negotiations, and product design.

Lead project teams in excellence in execution including prioritization, resource allocation, budget management, and improvement processes.

Build alignment and lead collaboration with other departments including: Sales, Marketing, Sourcing, Production Management, Customer Service, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality Assurance.

Establish, develop, and maintain supplier and co-manufacturer relationships for new product development

Develop creative and technical solutions to product development stagegate challenges.

Take part in and drive the HAPPYFAMILY culture through leadership, teamwork, and co-creation.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Bachelor's Degree in Food, Business, or Sciences. Master's Degree a plus. 3-5 years experience in a similar Project Management Role, preferably familiar with technical product

development and consumer packaged goods industry. Familiarity with multiple project management platforms and methodologies. Project Management

Professional a plus Positive, can-do, proactive attitude and work ethic Thoughtful, sustainable and holistic personal values set Excellent communication and problem solving skills

Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment- flexible, self-directed, creative, and team player Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, both as an individual contributor and as a team

member Strong computer skills including proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint. Google applications, Redbooth,

Basecamp and ERP (SAP) a plus.
