Placement Opportunity

The World Language Department is giving the opportunity to students who have the ability to successfully apply all four language skills (listening, reading, speaking, and writing) to take a Placement Exam to advance from level 1 to level 2.

The following are the designated days, time, and location for corresponding placement:

Level 2 CP Two-Year Honors/Proficient Levels

Level 3 IB SL

Level 4 AP Requirements

Freshmen who have successfully completed 2 years of the same target language in Junior High, will be placed in level 2

Bilingual or fluent freshman, and transfer students may take a placement exam in the target language to ensure corresponding placement. A score of 80% and above will place the student in level 2.

IB SL and AP is a two-year program. Freshmen will not be placed in IBSL Level. Students must earn a C- or better to move on to the next level. Students must earn a B- or better to move on to AP level. According to initial placement, students may be able to take the AP/IB/Cambridge exams upon

completion of level 4 AP.
