All of these activities are found in the MindTap Learning Path, which appears when you open a course and is structured just like your print book. C21 Accounting includes 4 Parts, and you will see the 4 Part folders in the Learning Path followed by Appendices when you open the course.Opening a Part folder will show chapter folders as well as reinforcement activities, part tests, and if you have purchased them for the 11th edition, Simulations where they would be found or started using your print book. (Please see screenshot on following page)Note that the organizations within each chapter may differ slightly from the 10th to 11th edition, however, both editions will contain the following in each chapter.Back to Table of Contents^MindTap Reader (Readings)Readings are found in each chapter and are broken up by Lesson. All readings have a gray textbook icon to the left to indicate it is a reading. Opening a reading will bring you to the table of contents for that reading. You can quickly navigate to a section of the reading using the hyperlinks.Reading will match your print textbook, as well as all images, charts, and figures. Click and drag to select any portion of text and the Annotation Window will open. This window allows students to highlight in one of four colors. Teachers have a fifth, orange color that is a Shared Highlight. Creating a shared highlight will also push that highlight to your student’s eReader as they read along, indicating it is an area of focus.(Please see screenshot on following page)The Annotation Window also allows you to take notes by clicking “Add Note.” A textbook will appear. Enter a note and click “Save.” If you want to add a Shared Note with the rest of the class as your students read through the text, click the “Share” button at the bottom of the note and click “Save.” The note will now turn orange and live in the margin for students to click on as they read.Teachers can also add resources into the reading using the pencil tool at the top-left of the eReader next to the “Chapter Contents” button. Click the Pencil icon and orange plus signs will appear throughout the reading. Select a plus sign where you want to add a resource. The “Add Inline Activity” screen will open. You can choose to add files from your computer using either Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive, add an RSS feed, a YouTube web video, an inline quiz with CNOW, a web link, or a quiz or test document of your own.Select the type of activity you want to add. A wizard will then walk you through the steps to add the activity and any description you want into the eReader. The activity will then be added into the reading where you clicked the orange plus sign for all students to access as they read. The top-right of the eReader offers icons for a ReadSpeaker, tools to change the size of text, bookmark, and print pages. The Search Tool always lives at the top of the course. You can search for print text page numbers to get to that point in the reading, as well as keywords, or assignment names to quickly navigate through the course.Vocab terms within the reading will also be hyperlinked with the definition. Click on a Vocab Term to view the definition. These terms also live in the Flash Card app on the right-hand app dock. The icon looks like a stack of index cards.Students can study flash cards online by clicking the term to flip the card and view the definition. They can also click the gear icon in the top-right of the flash card app to select the Key Term or Definition to view first or print the deck. Students can even create their own flash cards using the “+ Create Card” button. All notes, highlights, and bookmarks made throughout the course are automatically saved to the StudyHub app on the right-hand app dock. The icon looks like an open book with a highlighter. StudyHub allows Teachers and students to view all notes, highlights, key term definitions, and more by creating a Study Guide, or they can quickly link back to notes, highlights, and bookmarks. Learn more about using StudyHub here: Back to Table of Contents^END OF LESSON REVIEW (WORK TOGETHER/ON YOUR OWN OWP)After lesson readings, you will find practice assignments that apply to that lesson as well as Working Papers, Work Together and On Your Own assignments. The 11th edition includes a Terms Review and Audit Your Understanding Activities that are pre-set as practice assignments. Practice assignments allow students to attempt the assignment an unlimited amount of times. They can see their score, but the grade will not automatically flow to the gradebook. See Viewing Practice Grades, here if you want to learn to see how student do on practice assignments. Work Together and On Your Own problems will be the first you see that are powered by Aplia Online Working Papers. The standard Setting for all Online Working Paper activities is “Grade it Now.” This setting allows students to attempt the problem multiple times IF alternate versions of the problem exist. All Work Together and On Your Own problems only offer one version of each problem, therefore, they revert to the “Standard” Aplia setting. That means that students get one attempt at each problem. They can receive feedback and their score after they submit the assignment. Once the assignment is submitted, the grade will feed to your gradebook in the Progress App. Learn more about Online Working Paper Assignment Types here. Because the “Standard” setting only allows students to have one attempt at a question, you may want to go to Learn how to allow Multiple Attempts. Work Together and On Your Own problems will only cover skills learned in that particular lesson of the chapter.Back to Table of Contents^Viewing FeedbackWith the “Standard” setting, students can view feedback on the assignment after they submit. To view this, they should navigate back to the Working Papers assignment. They will see their score in the learning path next to the assignment. Teachers will see the overall class score.Student should select one of the questions on the following screen to view feedback. Correct answers often show green check marks while incorrect answers show red x’s or red shaded cells. Students can click on a red x or red cell to view the correct answer.0-508000Learn more about how teachers can view Online Working Paper Solutions here.Back to Table of Contents^STUDY HALL FOLDERThe Study Hall Folder follows the last End of Lesson Review folder in each chapter. For future editions and the Advanced Accounting, 11e MindTap, point values will reflect the number of tasks in each Online Working Paper assignment. However, MindTap will always take into account each task the students need to complete in the full grade. If you decide to use?points?vs?percentages in the Progress App Gradebook, that gradebook will show grades up to 1 decimal?point, so you can get scores like 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, and so on.Choosing to view your Gradebook as percentages will also auto-calculate the grade according to the number of tasks correct out of available tasks. Learn how to toggle between points and percentages in the Progress App here. What constitutes a task?Tasks include decisions students must make for an assignment to be correct. That may include selecting an option, it may include keeping a journal cell blank, and it may include getting an entire Journal row correct.Back to Table of Contents^PROGRESS APP—ALL ASSIGNMENTSThe Progress App catalogs all student grades and tracks data analytics about how students are using MindTap.
