Remote Learning/Google Meet Expectations for Students (Grades PreK - 5)To maintain a positive, productive learning environment, all students should observe the following guidelines:Mute yourself right when you join and keep your microphone muted when you are not speaking.Use the chat to ask questions and make comments related to class. No spam please. Use headphones with a built in microphone if there are other people in your home using video conferencing or talking in the background. Dress appropriately. Be in a common area when you join the virtual meeting. Be aware of what is in the background of your video camera when you are in a meeting. Find a quiet and comfortable place to work that helps you concentrate. If technology is not working email your teacher IMMEDIATELY.Remote Learning/Google Meet Expectations for Students (Grades 6 - 12)To maintain a positive, productive learning environment, all students should observe the following guidelines:Keep in mind, you are IN SCHOOL! The virtual classroom should be treated the same as the physical classroom. Hours and attendance will run simultaneously with your scheduled classes. Students are expected to log in and remain for the entirety of the class period.Be on time. If a student is late, they must comment in the chat that they are e prepared.All students should have their own pair of headphones (both remote and hybrid learners). The headphones should have a standard jack (not an iPhone jack) to be compatible with the chromebook. Use headphones with a built in microphone if there are other people in your home using video conferencing or talking in the background. Dress appropriately. Students are encouraged to wear their school uniform. Find a quiet place free of distractions. Be aware of what is in the background Family members, including parents, guardians, siblings, should not be a part of the Meetings. Do not attend meetings from your bed.Attempt to select an area in your home with enough space for necessary items- notebooks, computers, etc. Use your computer. Put your phone away. Don’t be distracted by phones or games.Turn cameras ON; show your face in the camera. Do not turn off your camera.Mute yourself until you are told to unmute.Ask questions in the chat and/or raise your hand. Do NOT have side conversations in the chat. If for some reason a student needs to leave the Meeting, they should comment in the chat.Use polite and appropriate language.Give your best effort online as you would in the classroom.Students should check their email daily.Do not record meetings to protect the privacy of all participants. Inappropriate use/behavior on Google Meets will be handled according to the district’s Code of Conduct and Acceptable Use Policy. Remote Learning/Google Meet Expectations for ParentsTo maintain a positive, productive learning environment, all parents/guardians are expected to observe the following guidelines:Keep in mind students are IN SCHOOL. Google Meetings are designed for students to engage in learning. To prevent disruptions to the learning environment, parents/guardians should not actively participate in sessions. Parents/guardians may assist their child with technology. Especially with synchronous learning, any support needed should be coming from the teacher. Do not video record, audio record, photograph, live stream, or transmit in any other way any part of a Google Meeting, including not posting on any social media platform.Any confidential or personally identifiable information related to students participating in a Google Meeting should not be collected, discussed, or shared. Parents/guardians should not engage with students during Google Meetings. If a parent/guardian has a question, please email your child’s teacher. ................
