There has been a recent reported incident, which compels this action and requires that an investigation be completed. We have been informed that you have allegedly been involved in a serious violation of policy that may result in termination of your employment with Duke University. During the course of the investigation, you will be extended the opportunity to provide any information that you would like for us to consider as we review this situation. While you are on paid administrative leave you are expected to provide information as requested, be available for on-site meetings to ensure we can complete the investigation and be available during your normal working hours for on-site meetings or calls to ensure we can complete the investigation in a timely manner. As we discussed, you are instructed not to contact other department staff to discuss this matter. As a result of this incident, you are expected to be available to respond to questions and are not allowed on Duke University Health System/Duke University property for the duration of the paid leave, except in the event of a medical emergency. In the event that you have a need to return to Duke University Health System/Duke University for reasons other than a medical emergency, you should contact Duke University Police Department, at (919) 684-2444, for approval prior to your arrival. There are several resources available that you may find beneficial. Below are the resources that may be able to provide assistance during and after your period of leave:A representative of Staff and Labor Relations is available to discuss questions you might have about the paid administrative leave process. You may contact Staff and Labor Relations at (919) 684-5557.Personal Assistance Service (PAS) is available as a supportive, short-term counseling resource available for you during this time. PAS may be reached by calling (919) 416-1727.If you are an out of state staff member who would like to access counseling or coaching services, you may contact Business Health Services (BHS) at 800-327-2251.I will contact you when our investigation is complete so that we can schedule a time to discuss the outcome of our review and decision in this matter.
