Criteria revised September 10, 2018:

To earn a letter in Art Club at Greenbush Middle River, a student must:

1. Be an Active participant in the Art Club; attend at least 7 of the 9 monthly meetings (1st Wednesday of each month) and help with fund raising. Fund raising includes working concessions at least ONE FULL session, creating various crafts for sale; buttons, jewelry, etc., Working Goose Festival, Valentine Grams, and other fund-raising related activities. These activities are subject to change.

2. Participate in at least 1 art contest/residency/Publication:

• MSHSL Show

• NWRAC Show

• Artist in Residency participant

• Have a piece of art published in a publication, i.e. Let’s Celebrate Families calendar, ArtInk, Grand Forks Herald, etc;

• Be involved with the Robotics Sculpture Contest

3. The following are activities that members are encouraged to participate in. Members should feel privileged when asked to fulfill any art related activity. Remember, we exist to “Making Our World a More Beautiful Place.”

• Attend art camp or classes after school or in the summer;

• Apply and receive a scholarship to attend art related camps or workshops;

• Participate in the MHSL Section 8A visual art competition, or the NWRDC regional art exhibition. This will include matting and or framing of artwork

• Work at Nursing Home Children’s Fair

• Work the previous summer’s 4th of July Wojo Rodeo

• Winter Connect

• Other Art exhibit approved by advisor

• Display work locally (set and take down) in one of the following locations;

✓ Public library

✓ Border State Bank…Middle River or Greenbush

✓ Nursing Homes

✓ Etc.

*Final awarding of a letter is up to the discretion of the advisor.

A student lettering the first year will receive a chenille “G” if they have not already lettered in another activity. They will also receive a certificate, an art emblem and gold bar.

A gold bar will be awarded for each successive year.
