LexisNexis ID Instructions for Transfer/Visiting Students
LexisNexis ID Instructions for Transfer/Visiting Students
If you have transferred to (or are visiting) Widener University, School of Law - Delaware Campus, please contact Mary Alice Peeling at (302) 477-2115 in the Legal Information Center to set up a new LexisNexis account to be used while attending the Widener. Your LexisNexis ID at your previous law school must be cancelled and your new ID must be registered in order to transfer your Ultimate Rewards Points. LexisNexis IDs are non-transferable between law schools.
If you have created a custom ID/password at your previous law school and would like to use that custom ID/password with your new LexisNexis ID:
• Contact your LexisNexis Rep at your previous law school and inform the rep that you are attending another law school – provide your first/last name and middle initial (no need to provide your custom ID/password)
• Ask the rep to cancel your previous ID and to notify you when it has been cancelled
NOTE: You cannot use your previous custom ID/password at Widener-DE until your old ID has been cancelled
• Register your new ID (see below)
• If you are a visiting student, your previous ID can be re-activated when you return to your home school
Registering your new ID:
• Go to lawschool
• Select the “Register Your Activation Code” link
• Go to the “New Student/Faculty/Staff” heading
• Enter your activation code – your activation code does not contain lowercase Ls or capital Os; use the numbers 1 and zero
• Select “Next” and create your Custom ID/Password/Security Question
Guidelines for creating your Custom ID:
• Your Custom ID must consist of 8 to 25 characters containing at least one letter
• Your name (first, last or first-and-last) cannot be used alone as a Custom ID
• Your password must contain 6 to 50 characters (You can use your first initial and last name as a password, e.g. mjohnson)
• Only these symbols are permitted: (at sign) @, (underscore) _, (hyphen) -, (period).

FORGETTING YOUR PASSWORD: Send an email to your Widener-DE and personal email accounts (e.g., gmail, yahoo, hotmail) with your Custom ID/Password and save. If you forget your Custom ID/Password, you can quickly access it from your email.
