|Vehicle Issue |Battery discharged, Unable to deactivate alarm or program key fob => Disarm Viper VTSS as follows:;In |

| |what area is the electrical problem? >> Vehicle theft security system What is problem with the |

| |VTSS(theft alarm)? >> Unable to disarm >> Unable to disarm with RKE Fob |

|System or Component |Will Not Unlock / Disengage;Customer Concern (No DTCs);Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) |

|Recommendation |Disarm Viper VTSS as follows: The viper coupe is the new style viper which came out in 1996, it has |

| |only one VTSS/RKE module (called an EEM), the only way the VTSS can be disarm if the fob is lost is to |

| |apply 12 volts to pin c11 of the EEM connector. Then the tech must resynchronize the key fobs first by |

| |pushing both buttons on the fob for 5 to 10 seconds (the horn will then beep, see the attached sheet in|

| |this packet for more information). On a viper convertible, which is the first original viper built has |

| |two separate independent modules for VTSS and RKE (this may apply to possibly all model years, but for |

| |sure up to 1995) if the key fob is lost and the VTSS is armed, the tech can disarm vehicle by grounding|

| |pin b1. Also the key fob for a convertible can be replace by a lH fob temporarily for testing. Note: |

| |The newer vipers have a disarm switch in the center console (1999 +). |
