AGENT'S JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Function: The primary function of the agent is to produce sales of new business. To accomplish this goal, the agent must obtain prospects, qualify those prospects and use extensive product knowledge and sales skills to determine the correct solution to the prospect's needs in order to close the sale. In order to maintain the necessary knowledge and skills, the agent must be continuously involved in a program of self development. Product knowledge and sales skills training begins prior to employment and continues throughout the agent's career.

Another function of the agent is to service all business within his/her agency. These services include, but are not limited to, claims assistance, policy reviews and policy changes, such as name changes and beneficiary changes. Additionally, agents must make every effort to conserve the business which is in force in his/her agency.

The agent is the Company's primary contact with the public and, as such, must always conduct activities in a manner calculated to bring credit to both the agent and the Company. In order to operate in the most efficient manner possible, it is necessary for the agent to spend several hours each week planning sales and service activities and maintaining appropriate sales and service records.

To provide the end results required by this position, the agent must follow procedures that are outlined in the Field Procedures Manual, the Guide to Growth and other directives issued from time to time by the Company. The agent is also subject to the insurance laws of the state in which he or she operates. This requires the agent to continually acquire an increasing knowledge of existing procedures and laws, as well as keep up-to-date on changes.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1.

Successfully complete all requirements to become fully licensed in the state in

which he or she operates.

2.

Perform the necessary activities to produce a satisfactory volume of quality new

business and keep this business in force. Complete applications for insurance,

read and interpret sales proposals, sales literature, underwriting guidelines and

various types of insurance policies. Must be able to service the business of

existing customers and establish new customers. This requires daily, prolonged

driving/riding in a motor vehicle, frequently getting in and out of an automobile,

negotiating stairs and meeting with customers at their residences and businesses.

Maintain, service and conserve the in-force block of business assigned to the

agency so as to retain a large portion of this business. Requires the capability of

locating addresses, following directions and visually assessing proposed

insureds/applicants to determine whether they meet company underwriting and

state insurance law guidelines.

4.

Account for application fees or other monies collected from customers.

5.

Provide all necessary services to the customer such as policy changes, claims,

assistance, policy reviews, etc. These skills must be sufficient to conduct sales

presentations and to communicate in person and by phone with customers,

doctors, hospitals, funeral homes, etc.

6.

Satisfactorily complete all Company required training programs and courses.

7.

Develop and implement plans for self improvement in order to contribute to the

future growth of the Company.

8.

Continued education courses must be satisfactorily completed in states requiring

such to maintain a license to conduct business.

9.

Operate daily activities in such a way as to ensure respect and admiration for the

Company and the agent.

10.

Always maintain, as the primary objective, the protection of the customer's best

interest.
