Lincoln County Detention Center in Kemmerer, Wyoming started with TurnKey Corrections on January 9th, 2014. Lincoln County has a brand new facility with an 80 bed capacity. In a joint e ort, Lincoln County and TurnKey have placed a kiosk into each of the jail's pods, and conduct o -site video visitation this way. "This has enhanced the safety in the facility with less inmate movement. This also frees up my o cers to accomplish other daily tasks." Lt. Troy Jansen. Safety is a top priority at the Lincoln County Detention Center, "Make your facility as safe as possible. The community may not like it at rst, but will learn to accept it in the future" said Lt. Jansen. The video visitation feature and utilizing o -site visitation is part of what Lincoln County does to create a safer environment. "It's funny to watch inmates, who think of themselves as a tough guy, conduct video visitation with their loved ones and see that they truly are not as tough as they make themselves out to be." According to Lt. Jansen, the Video Visitation, the ability to utilize cash boxes with the accounting software, have been the most helpful change since beginning with TKC. He noted, "Having the cash boxes saves on o cers miscounting money." Lincoln County is currently looking at expanding their o erings through TKC by utilizing the kiosks for the law library. Another tip from Lt. Jansen, "I don't recommend starting a brand new facility with ALL brand new vendors. It is a stressful time and you truly don't learn everything about each vendor that you need to, or get all the `Bugs' out before you go `live' with your new facility." Lt. Jansen would like to recognize Michele and Courtney from TKC, saying "For the rst four months, I called one of them at least weekly for help. They gave me great assistance each and every time and had my issues handled in a very timely manner. Thank you!"
