our old system, we might not have ever found the part we needed. The car just sat there and the

customer was unhappy. It was an all-around

nightmare. D2DLink has changed that. It's such

an incredibly valuable resource for all of us."

Automotive Group said, "Through the use of

D2DLink, we're improving customer satisfaction

Ford Parts Supersession History in D2DLink

In August 2003, D2DLink introduced Part

Number Supersession to Ford Dealers. This new

feature allows Ford dealers to see available

parts history information every time they

perform a parts search. One click brings up a

comprehensive list of the parts supersession

chain history, instead of going to other sources

(e.g. DOESII or the OSI catalogue).

Navigating through the D2DLink supersession

screens is easy. Here's how it works. If when

doing a part locate you see a supersede icon --

click on the icon

to reveal the linked part

numbers and its detailed history information.

The part number searched is highlighted in yellow. Grey highlighted lines show parts that

your part replaced: backward supersession. White highlighted lines show the parts that have replaced your part: forward supersession. The original part number, new part number, and on-hand quantities for your dealership are displayed. Determine which part to locate, check

the box, and find the needed part among your neighboring or nationwide trading partners.

The Operand column provides history for kits or assemblies that may have been disassembled through the supersession process. The arrow indicates the most up-to-date part number available.

If you need additional help using supersession, call OEConnection Customer Service at 1-888-776-5792, press 2.

New Notification Feature Speeds Up D2D Express Processing

Dealers who fill D2D Express orders can now have incoming orders launch an email that can ring their computer, cell phone or pager.

"The whole idea of notifications is to give dealers every opportunity to fill as many orders as they can," said Don Morton, Ford Motor Company Representative. "Dealers have filled over 27,000 D2D Express orders since the program began its full launch in March `03. That's a good start. However, there were almost 17,000 "UNFILLED" D2D Express orders missed by dealers in that same timeframe. These unfilled orders equal almost $1.3 million in parts department revenue or $75 per order. That's $130,000 possible profit that went unshipped.

We anticipate this new notification feature will help dealers fill more orders and sell more parts."

With a computer's volume turned up, D2D Express notification set up properly, and the email configured correctly, the computer's email rings for each incoming order. A salesperson can then attempt to be the first to fill that order. With D2D Express notifications, the computer, email-ready cell phone or email-ready pager can alert counter people to take action to help them sell more parts.
