Born 29 Jan 1892 Manistee MI; lived in So Bend most of her life; died 13 Jan 1981 age 88 at 9 P.m. in Hamilton Grove Retirement Home, New Carlisle after a brief illness. Her husband died Aug 3; she is survived by her dau Mrs Geraldine Solomon of Los Gatos CA; two sons; Ralph of Michigan City IN and Irving of Dennison TX; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a sister Mrs Carrie Duszynski of South Bend and two brothers, Stanley and Edward Wroblewski, both of South Bend.

South Bend Trib: So Bd Woman dies of injuries: Julia b Gramza age 96 of 307 s Walnut became Northern IN Toll Rd’s 1st traffic fatality at 9:45 p.m. when she died in Memorial Hosp from injuries suffered at noon in a wreck near the Michigan City nterchange. Police said she was a passenger in a car driven by her son in law Thomas L Kerr age 47 of Rt 2, Edwardsburg MI when it ran off the road and overturned a mile

west of Mich Cy plaza. Kerr, his wife Julia 40 & their son John 10 also were injured. Mrs Gramza taken first toDoctors Hospital, was transferred to Memorial Hosp at 3:30 p.m. to undergo surgery.. She suffered head, internal & chest injuries, broken ribs and a fractured left shoulder blade. They were going to Chicago to visit Mrs Gramza’s son, John L and see new twin sons. She lived alone & was a part time employee of the Modern Home Supply co, 1144 Western Ave. She was born 18 May 1887 in South Bend , & was employed at one time as housekeeper at St Hedwig’s rectory. Services at St Hedwig’s Catholic Church, and burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Surviving are 3 daughters: Mrs Martha Weaver Lafayette IN, Mrs Veronica Webster of SBd, Mrs Julia Kerr of Edwardsburg MI, 2 sons: John of Chicago & Casimir in the Marines in Oxnard Ca; 2 sisters, Mrs Tillie Mezykowski, Mrs Laura Bladecki of new Carlisle, 2 brothers, John of South Bend and Frank Brodzinski of Terre Coupe, 13 grandchildren.

MICHALINA GRAMZA - Nee Piekarski - w/o Wincenty

Born 6 Aug 1870 Poland; arrived here 1898; died 8 Jun 1948, age 77, ill 4 weeks. Buried St Joseph Cemetery. Her husband Wincenty died in 1945. One daughter Mrs Stanislawa Gorlaczyk, and two sons; Frank and Joseph Gramza; two sisters, Mrs Angela Garstecki and Mrs Stella Zarobinski.

Born 10 Aug 1936; died 28 Nov 1996, age 60 of 4802 Craig Road, at home after a 6 month illness. Daughter of the late Joseph and Genevieve [Jankowiak] Dubala. She graduated from St Joseph High School, attended Indiana U in SBd , was a homemaker, & worked as a bank teller for many years. Mass at St Matthews Cathedral with interment at Cedar Grove Cem.
