DR. WILLIAM IANNACCONE PAST INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR

Dr. William Iannaccone, of Walnut Creek, California, USA, served a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs following his election at the association's 76th International Convention, held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, July 6-9, 1993.

Past Director Iannaccone is a Doctor of Chiropractic.

A Lion since 1976, Past Director Iannaccone is a member of the Walnut Creek Host Lions Club. He has held many positions within the association, including club president (twice), zone chairman, cabinet secretary and district governor. He has also served as a presenter at two USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forums and was a group leader at the district governors-elect school. Past Director Iannaccone is very active locally, having served as president of the Lions Wilderness Camp for Deaf Children, president of the Ear of the Lion Foundation, president of the Lions Blind Center of Oakland, trustee and president of the Lions Eye Foundation of California/Nevada, Inc., and editor of the Lions Eye Foundation's periodical, "The Retina."

Past Director Iannaccone has received numerous awards in recognition of his service to the association, including the 100% District Governor Award, a Master Key, four International President's Certificates of Appreciation, several extension awards, four International President's Awards and the Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest award the association grants to its members. He is a Life Member and Helen Keller Fellow of the Lions Eye Foundation and a Life Member and recipient of the Alexander Graham Bell Award of the Ear of the Lion Foundation. He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.

Past Director Iannaccone and his wife, Cindy, have four children and eight grandchildren.
