Old News:

Home residents and band parents alike enjoyed concert at One Mendon Road. The McCourt Middle School band has been asked to come back next year for another holiday concert. The activity director at the home mentioned that they would like to give the band a cash donation. Amount unknown at this time.

Fall fundraiser profits (covered on treasury report). Profit from the Pine Swamp Place fundraiser in the amount of $15.00 was used to purchase baskets for our holiday concert gift raffle that was held in December.

Instrument wish list to was given to BAAM. BAAM stated they are waiting for the North Cumberland Middle School bands wish list before they decide what donations will be given. Mr. DeLillio is to follow up with Paul Bowser at North to see where they are with their list.

November 20th’s informational table, including parent e-mail form was unable to be set up due to lack of help. Mr. DeLillio placed the e-mail list on desk at the parent teacher conference. This list was also available at the raffle table during the holiday concert. Many parents have been added to the list server from this list to receive band information.

Interest form for 5th grade band students was also located at the raffle table at the holiday concert. We now have about 33 5th graders interested in joining the McCourt Middle School’s Band for the 2009-2010 school year.

The McCourt Band Booster’s for the McCourt Middle School Band will purchase sheet music. The band boosters are unfamiliar with how to order the sheet music. Therefore, Mr. Delillo is going to purchase the sheet music and the boosters will reimburse him. Cost will be about $30.00.

Town music programs December meeting did not take place. More information will follow.

Lisa Koziol-Kenyon has filled 5th grade band director’s position as of 1-27-09 with the exception of Cumberland Hill School. We hope to have the 5th grade band join us at this years All Band Night.

New News:

Treasury report- Marcia reported that we made $10.00 with the sweatshirt sales and $168.00 with the holiday poinsettia plant fundraiser. The current account balance is $3505.87.

Our music program update is that the 5th grade band director position has been filled. We are still striving to create a program to support students/families that can’t afford instruments, continuity with band directors, as well as equality throughout the band program in town and better communication between schools concerning band activities and programs offered.

Band pictures to be taken by Potter Photography. An 8X10 photo will be offered for $12.00. Exact date of picture taking is to be determined. Will be late March, after school. The order form will be sent home with band students, as time gets closer.

The band boosters are looking for parent help. A sign up sheet will be distributed to band students within the next two weeks. This is a two-sided form. Please fill out and return to Mr. Delillo as soon as possible.

Board is in need of more parents at the sixth- and seventh-grade level to serve as parents’ liaisons to the board.

This would serve two purposes:

- It would increase the size of the board

- It would ensure continuity when the parents of eighth-graders leave the organization following their children’s graduation

New Committees have been created. Information will be on second side of “parent help” form.
