WAI - Web Accessibility Initiative is a part of W3C which stands for World Wide Web Consortium, an international consortium where member organizations, full-time staff, and the public work together to develop Web standards.
WebAim is a site with lots of great information as well as links to free downloadable toolbars for either Internet Explorer or Firefox that help designers test sites for accessibility.
