What is Title I?Mineral Springs Elementary School is identified as a Title I school with Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Title I is a federal program designed to support state and local school reform efforts and is tied to the challenging state’s academic standards to improve teaching and learning for students. Title I programs must be based on effective ways to improve student achievement and include strategies to support family engagement. What is a School-Parent Compact? The purpose of this compact is to foster the development of a school-family relationship to help all children achieve the goals for the state’s academic achievement standards for students. It is the school’s responsibility to provide a high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective environment that enables children to meet the state’s performance standards. As a part of that commitment, the school must address the importance of communication between parents/guardians and teachers on an ongoing basis through parent/teacher conferences, progress reports, volunteer opportunities, research presentations, curriculum nights, and PTA events.WS/FCS Strategic GoalsGoal 1:?
