Are you interested in learning about cities? Do you want to take a class that will allow you to work to improve the quality of life of your community? Then, you should consider urban planning.

John Friedmann refers to planning as the link of knowledge and action to guide and transform society. The course is intended to give the student a broad overview of urban issues facing American cities as well as our border city. The student will be exposed to a wide range of topics that are directly related to urban issues and, more importantly, what the field of urban planning can do to guide public policy to improve the quality of life in cities.
