As usual you will receive new information about clubs that will take place until Christmas. Our variety of after school clubs are very popular and we are happy to be able to offer a wide range of activities that cater for different interests. Similarly to last year, our clubs all cost ?1.50 with the exception of football. This is paid in advance and details will follow separately. HOP is our ongoing facility for younger pupils who wish to stay to 3.00pm to wait on an older sibling so only one pick up is required. However, pupils don’t need an older sibling to stay for this club – everyone is welcome! There is a different focus each day in HOP and children have a snack. HOP is also ?1.50 per day. We appreciate all club money coming in a labelled envelope and paid to the class teacher (not the office) to ensure efficient money management in school. Thank you. In the event that a club is over-subscribed, the club will run again in the next term so everyone gets to take part. In the event, there aren’t enough numbers to run a club, it will be withdrawn. Please discuss with your child the activities he/she would like to participate in. We would encourage all children to avail of these clubs as they are important for developing other skills and values eg. teamwork, cooperation etc. Please indicate by ticking which activity or activities your child would like to take part in and return to the class teacher by Wednesday 11th September. Lists will be on display by Friday 13th September. Should a club have to be cancelled at short notice (this rarely happens), you’ll be notified on seesaw. Sports Football This club will continue to be taken by our coach, Daniel Carlisle who was very popular last year. Children have already signed up to a 6 week block and then further details will follow about resigning up for another block if desired. As children develop ball skills, our aim to is to play a number of friendly matches with local schools for our junior and senior children. It is great to see so much interest in Football. Other ClubsCraft ClubThis activity is taken by a member of staff and will allow children the opportunity to develop their imagination through various creative activities. Transfer ClubTransfer Club is taken by Mrs Nelson and will be available up until the test for transfer children only.LegoThis club is also taken by a member of staff and will allow the children to be creative in another way....they will get to participate in challenges and construct various models with a different theme each week. Minecraft Miss Bradford will lead this club and provide opportunities and challenges for children each week to create within a certain theme. HOP continues daily at 2.00pm for P1 – 3 children and each day will have a different focus very similar to the senior clubs. Lego will be carried out in same manner as senior club with various challenges each week. Outdoor club will include playing in outdoor play areas, use of trikes etc, gardening, planting and recycling activities. It can also include exploring and investigating in our local environment as well as den making, toasting marshmallows etc. Craft will involve creative activities, iPad Club will continue to develop various apps used in school e.g. puppets pals, 2 Create a Story, Toontastic etc while Story and rhyme will explore various stories each week followed by an activity. ................
