The purpose of this exercise is to develop a database representing a collection. You will use your knowledge of databases to create tables, forms, queries, and reports. Here are some database ideas: cd’s, address book, clothes, favorite places, sports cards, or anything you believe can be classified into a database. Please remember you will need a database that can sustain 50 records!

1) Your database will be about:

     

(Star Wars Characters)

2) Your database will have the following fields (4 fields—not including your ID and picture fields):

a. _____ID______ data type: Autonumber

b.       (Name) data type: Short Text

c.       (Episode) data type: Lookup Wizard

d.       (Height) data type: Number

e.       (Jedi/Sith) data type: Yes/No

f.       (Picture) data type: OLE Object

**If you wish, you may have more than the minimum.

3) Please list at least four options for your lookup wizard field (as many as you want after four):

a.       (Phantom Menace)

b.       (Return of the Jedi)

c.       (Force Awakens)

d.       (Empire Strikes Back)

4) Write down the fields that will be in your query (don’t include ID)?

5) What query will you run for your database (at least 2 criteria)?

     

(All Jedi/Sith that appeared on the Phantom Menace and are taller than 2m)

6) How will you sort the fields in your report (which field, ascending/descending?). Remember that your report will be created from your query.
