Make all the drivers visible (even the ones you are not using right now):
1. From the desktop, right click on “My Computer”
2. Select “Properties”
3. Click on the “Advanced” tab
4. Click on “Environment Variables”
5. In the top section, User Variables for XXXX, click on
6. Enter the Variable Name as “DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES”
7. Enter the Variable Value as “1”
8. Click (exits the New User Variable Window)
9. Click (exits the Environment Variables Window)
10. Click (exits System Properties Window)
If on a Windows XP machine, skip to step 13.
For Windows 2000 machines:
11. Log off this machine (Start->Log Off XXXX)
12. Lon onto this machine
Un-install our driver from the OS:
13. From the desktop, right click on “My Computer”
14. Select “Properties”
15. Select the “Hardware” tab
16. Click on “Device Manger”
17. From the top pull down menus, select “View->Show hidden devices”
18. Surf down the list until you get to “Universal Serial Bus controllers”
19. Click on the “+” sign to expand it.
20. Right click on our drivers (FoUSB from Renesas or Mitsubishi) and select Uninstall
21. Close the Device Manager Window
22. Close the System Properties Window
Remove the drivers from the hard drive:
23. Open Windows Explorer (Right click on Start and select Explore)
24. Windows 2000: Surf to the “C:\WINNT\System32\drivers” subdirectory
Windows XP: Surf to the “C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers” subdirectory
25. Delete “usbmon.sys”
26. Windows 2000: Surf to the “C:\WINNT\inf\” subdirectory
Windows XP: Surf to the “C:\WINDOWS\inf” subdirectory
27. Right click on the inf subdirectory and select search
28. In the containing text box enter: “pid_abcd” and click on
29. When a file shows up on the right hand side, right down the files name (mine was oem20.inf)
30. Right click on this file (in the search window) and click delete
31. Close the search window
32. In the \inf subdirectory, find the file with the same name but “.pnf” for a suffix. (In my computer this was oem20.pnf). Delete this file.
33. Close Windows Explorer
