Winter Reads Kickoff: Ramsey County Readers Recommend

Thursday, January 3, 2 p.m.

RCL - Shoreview

Join us to kick off Winter Reads, our reading program for adults. In December, the library in

Shoreview had a suggestion box asking for your favorite reads. Based on these book selections,

we¡¯ll present a list of books to help you decide what to read this winter. We¡¯ll also have some fun

activities for sharing more recommendations with each other. Come enjoy light refreshments,

meet other readers and add to your 2019 reading list!

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Ramsey County Library announces the launch of

a new initiative for families with children ages 0

to 4 years: 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten.

Reading with your child builds listening, memory,

concentration skills and much more. Experts

agree that children who learn these necessary

skills early do better in school and later in life.

Start your journey reading 1,000 books before

kindergarten by stopping by your library to

pick up your reading record, or sign up online at

rclreads.. Children can read (or

be read to) familiar books, new books, non-?ction books or even the same book more than once.

Books read at library storytimes count too! After each milestone, come into the library to pick up

a prize.

Explore is a bi-monthly publication funded jointly by Friends of the Ramsey County Libraries and Ramsey County Library.
