Ramsey County Library announces the launch of a new initiative for families with children ages 0 to 4 years: 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten.

Reading with your child builds listening, memory, concentration skills and much more. Experts agree that children who learn these necessary skills early do better in school and later in life.

Start your journey reading 1,000 books before kindergarten by stopping by your library to pick up your reading record, or sign up online at rclreads.. Children can read (or be read to) familiar books, new books, non-fiction books or even the same book more than once. Books read at library storytimes count too! After each milestone, come into the library to pick up a prize.
