Go to YouTube. This story is about how a seed grows into a plant. Think of your body as the plant. Exercise activity: Stand up and get out of your chair. Stretch your arms above your head. Your arms will be the leaves. Put your feet together and your body is like the stem. Your feet are like the roots and your head is like the flower. (See Picture)After listening to the story think about if this story is fiction or nonfiction. (Remember Fiction books tell a story that is made up by the author. I have also added in a game for you to play about putting the parts of the plant together.*Listen to The Parts of a Plant (song for kids about flower/stem/leaves/roots) on YouTube. can stand up and participate with the video.This song teaches you about each part of the plant and what each part does to help the plant. *Label the parts of the plant on the Plants are Living Things assignment.*Writing: Fold a piece of paper into 4 equal parts and write one part of the plant in each square. Write how the plant uses each part to help it grow. You can also practice using them in sentences. You can also use your old sight words from previous weeks.
