How YOU get started in LMS....

1. Go to LMS on a computer connected to the internet. Here you will choose which site you would like to access.

2. Select a Site and Enter Your User Name

For the My Career Development Site, your user name is your ninedigit employee ID number. Example: 000012345

For the Personal Health and Well Being (Private) Site, your user name is your nine-digit employee ID number prefixed with the letter `x'. Example: x000012345.

3. If this is your first time logging into LMS, please contact your department's LMS Administrator for your default password. You will be prompted to change this temporary password immediately and will also be asked to answer two security questions upon login. Once these have been answered, you may reset your password yourself at any time by using the "Forgot Your Password?" link on the login page.

Note: If you enter an incorrect password five times in a row, you will be

locked

out of the system for one hour. Please wait and try again.

We suggest using the same password for both sites.

How YOU Search for Training...

LMS has several ways for you to search for training sessions. Pick your favorite! You can search through the Search box at the top right of the page.

You can use Global Search by leaving the Search box blank and pressing enter. A new page allows you to enter as much criteria as you know in the fields provided. You can search for training by title, instructor, location, description, subject and more.

In the My Career Development Site, you can Browse For Training by category from the Home page. To see events/sessions for a specific category, click on the subject you are interested in on the right side of the homepage. Note: Any department-specific training will appear under "Specialized/Technical Training." Department-specific training is training that is only offered to employees in your department, usually by your department's internal training staff.

You can search by date through the Events Calendar (this can be found under the Learning tab). Note: The Events Calendar defaults to display all training events available to you. You can modify the calendar to show only your scheduled training sessions by clicking on the My Events radio button (found above calendar).

Request YOUR Training...

1. Log into LMS. 2. Search for training events that interest you. 3. Click on the title of the training event. On the Training Details page, you will see all the infor-

mation about the available training session(s). Note: If you don't see a session for which to register, click on "Notify me of new sessions" at the bottom of the page. This will add you to the course interest list.

4. To request training: Scroll down until you see the Request link on the right-hand side of the pop-up window for the session you would like to attend.

5. You're done! After you click Request, LMS will automatically process your request. If supervisor approval is required for your requested training, he/she will be notified via email. When your supervisor takes action on your request, LMS will send you an email informing you of your supervisor's action. If your supervisor is on vacation, requests will be approved by their designee. Approved requests are added to your training calendar and to Your Upcoming Sessions on your Home page. The LMS will manage the waitlist, send confirmation emails, track participation, and add completed training to your transcript.

To withdraw from a session you requested: Note: Please refer to the County's cancellation policy at .

To avoid charges to your department's budget, you must withdraw at least three business days prior to the course start date. 1. Log into LMS. 2. Go to your Transcript (click the View Transcript link in Your Inbox on the Home page.) 3. Click on the purple drop down menu next to the session, then click the Withdraw link. 4. On the Withdraw Registration screen you must select a reason for your withdrawal before clicking
