THE CAMEL 24 FELLOWSHIP WHAT?... WHY?... WHO?... WHEN?...

The Camel 24 Fellowship is essentially a place. What kind of place? It’s a safe place, a place apart: quiet, orderly, clean, peaceful. It is a place where men and women of all ages, races, differing economic circumstances and backgrounds come together to turn away from lives of alcohol and addictions and turn their attention toward lives of recovery healing and HOPE, it’s a life reclaiming place. The Camel 24 Fellowship is a self- supporting, nonprofit corporation, composed of dues-paying members. It is operated by a volunteer non-paid board of Directors, elected annually by the membership. It receives NO government state funding or local support. It exists to assist each and every individual in 12-step recovery by providing:A home for 12-step recovery meetings, 25?each weekA?clean environment for fellowship, A safe haven on a daily basisA place for special events, dances, golf outings, or just hanging outA private discussion room or place for children during meetingsA bookstore for all your recovery needs "The Simple Solutions Bookstore"A recovery information station for the surrounding communitySupporting?your NC Recovery Community Since 1985In terms of cost and benefits, the Camel 24 Fellowship has no parallel. The Camel 24 Fellowship was given its modest start by the efforts of a few men and women in Raleigh who had seen the effectiveness of similar Fellowships in other cities. Starting with very little capital, donated furniture, and many volunteer hours, the first Fellowship (on Creekside Drive) was begun in August, 1985.Alcoholics Anonymous, the most familiar and effective program for maintaining long-term sobriety, is the anchor for all that takes place in the Camel 24 Fellowship, although members of other recovery groups include: Narcotics Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous, Alanon, Alateen and Adult Children of Alcoholics. The worth to the community of the Camel 24 Fellowship is incalculable in terms of redirected lives nearly wrecked from addiction to alcohol and other drugs. Individual lives are restored through these recovery programs and this facility.Costs in treatment facilities have climbed to unreachable heights for many individuals, particularly for those who have no health insurance. Nearly all treatment programs count on facilities such as the Camel 24 Fellowship as an integral part of their aftercare planning. But the Camel 24 Fellowship receives NO direct financial support from treatment facilities, nor from the court system which also directs individuals into these recovery programs. The need is clear: low cost, high return recovery programs. Our facility provides such a sound, cost-effective base for an individual’s return to a productive life as a parent, professional, husband/wife, son/daughter and productive member of society.Federal, state, and local government agencies are looking for Pacesetters in providing effective, private, recovery facilities. With your support, the Camel 24 Fellowship can play a significant part in meeting these needs in our community. Please support this ‘safe place’ for your friends, neighbors, co-workers or even family members through your tax deductible donation of membership. Your support counts! It really does!MEMBERSHIP / CONTRIBUTION FORMDATE: ___________________________NAME: ___________________________ADDRESS:_________________________________________________________PHONE:__________________________E-MAIL: __________________________AMOUNT ENCLOSED $______________ CASH CHECKMONTHLY DUES$15.00ONE TIME ADMIN.
