-152400012192001739905086350173990Welcome back to school! Dear Second Grader,Welcome to a brand new school year! I have been extremely busy getting our classroom and materials ready for you. You have so much to learn this year! You will learn about fractions and geometry in math. You will read fiction and non-fiction books and learn about some great authors. In science, you will learn about plants and landforms. In Social Studies you will learn about goods and services, wants and needs, our community and how we contribute to it. I can hardly wait for you to see our classroom! How many places will you be able to find your name there? Please remind your parents that the Open House is on Tuesday, September 1. Stop by between 4:30 and 5:30. I will be in our classroom at 4:30, Room 101, eager to meet you. Please keep reading. At the Open House I would love to hear about a good book you have read and what you have been up to this summer. Also, please bring one or two of your favorite books to read during “Read to Self” Time for the first weeks of school. Please make sure your name is on/in your book(s). I look forward to seeing you at our Open House! Sincerely, Miss Hobrla3003550-38100Greetings, Parents! My name is Marilyn Hobrla, and I’m looking forward to having your child in my class this year. I will provide folders to help your child keep his or her work organized. Please save money and don’t purchase other school supplies, as they will be sent home. I will supply scissors, rulers, etc. The best way to keep an organized workspace is to have a minimal amount of items to organize. We will have tables rather than desks, so limited storage space. The best way to prepare for second grade is by listening to your child read every night in order to maintain important first grade reading skills. Please read to your child each night as well to improve vocabulary and critical thinking skills! I’ll see you soon.Sincerely,Marilyn HobrlaSecond Grade TeacherElmwood School ................
