COVID-19 NOTICE: MINIMIZING THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN A CT STATE COURTHOUSE MARCH 26, 2020

During this time of the COVID-19 crisis, our goal is to minimize the number of people, staff and public entering our courthouses each day, in order to reduce the possibility of exposure to COVID-19.

Effective immediately, entrance to courthouses is being limited to those individuals who are: ? Filing or have a hearing for a Temporary Restraining Order ? Filing or have a hearing for a Civil Protection Order ? Filing or have a hearing on an Ex Parte motion ? Involved in a criminal arraignment or other criminal proceeding.

For all other family, civil, motor vehicle infractions, housing, and small claims matters please do not enter a courthouse. Instead, please call the appropriate clerk's office.

Filing: You may file documents (accompanied by the court fee if one is required) by mailing them to the appropriate courthouse or by e-filing. Please visit the Judicial Branch's Eservices webpage for additional information on E-Filing.

Case Look-up: You may look up Supreme and Appellate, civil, family, criminal, motor vehicle, housing and small claims cases on the Judicial Branch website through the case look up function.

Traffic Tickets: You may pay, plead not guilty or request online review of your traffic ticket. Questions concerning traffic tickets may be sent to traffictickets@jud.. Fines and fees for criminal and motor vehicle matters are deferred until further notice.

If you wish to reopen a motor vehicle matter that has been closed out pursuant to C.G.S. sec. 14-140 please remit payment by mail. Please send a money order (personal checks are not accepted) in the amount of $60.00 made payable to "Clerk of Court" and mail to the court of jurisdiction. Please provide your name and docket number in the body of the money order.
