LOW-COST SPAY/NEUTER CLINIC

The City of San Jose offers a low-cost Spay/Neuter Clinic at the San Jose Animal Care Center. Our clinic operates below cost, so donations are welcome and appreciated. You can make donations at the Animal Care Center or by visiting

Tamed/Owned Cats

Appointments for cats are available Wednesday ? Friday. All tame/owned cats must have an appointment. Kittens must be at least 12 weeks old and weigh at least 3 pounds. All cats must be in individual pet carriers or traps.

Dogs

Appointments for dogs are available Tuesdays only. Only one dog per client. Dogs must be between the ages of 4 months to 5 years, weigh less than 80 pounds, be friendly, and be in excellent health.

Feral Cats: Walk-In Basis Only

We accept feral cats for surgery on a walk-in basis between 8am ? 8:30am Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only. We do not schedule appointments for feral cats. Only truly feral (wild) cats qualify. A feral cat is a cat that cannot be touched by humans. All other cats that are not truly feral ? stray or owned ? must have an appointment. Feral cats must arrive in a trap that is completely covered by a towel to reduce the animal's stress.

You can purchase a Feral Cat Program Package for $25 which includes spay/neuter (no additional pregnancy fee), Rabies, FVRCP, flea treatment, and earmite treatment (if needed). All feral cats will be ear-tipped. Rate is only available to residents of San Jose, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Milpitas, and Saratoga.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAM

This program is available to all Santa Clara County residents to provide additional resources for spay/neuter services. These benefits may be eligible for combination with other offers or programs. Spay/neuter plus a rabies vaccination Cost for all county residents is free for male dogs of any age and female dogs age six months or younger. For female dogs over the age of six months, the cost is the veterinary clinic's regular price less $100. Large breed dogs are dogs that, when adult, weigh 45 pounds or more. Pit bull-type dogs and large breed dogs are identified by the participating veterinary clinic. Dogs must be brought to the veterinary clinic on a leash
