Abstract
The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of resistance training on adolescents and young adults with cognitive disabilities, i.e., mental retardation (MR). More specifically, it aimed at determining whether or not individuals with MR could increase their strength through a nine-week resistance training program. Twenty individuals with MR, ages 16-22 participated in the program, twice per week, over 9 weeks.
