FROM FR. DAN’S DESK…
CONGRATULATIONS to our Parishioner – DIANE SULLIVAN – who was the lucky winner of our CHRISTMAS SCRATCH TIKET RAFFLE! She won $50 cash and 15 Scratch Tickets of varying value. We wish Diane well in the second phase of being a winner – hopefully winning on some of those tickets! We took in a total of $1,065 for the Raffle! Thank you for participating and helping raise money in support of our parish!
So on to the next Raffle! Last year we had a very successful Super Bowl Raffle in which we have away a gift card good toward the purchase of a Flat Screen TV or other appliance, as well as a several other small prizes. Let’s hope the Patriots make it to the Super Bowl?!? Either way, who can’t make good use of a Visa Gift Card? So we will have a Visa Gift Card as our first prize as well as several other prizes. Details for the Raffle are located below, and Raffle Entry Envelopes are in the baskets near the bulletin. Let’s make this another great fundraiser for our Parish Center Heating System!
We had a great BAKE SALE fundraiser to benefit our PARISH OUTREACH PROGRAMS the weekend before Christmas. A total of $644 was raised to support pantry food baskets, Thanksgiving Dinner Baskets, and other items offered to members of our parish in need, as well as people in need in our community! We have re-named “Social Justice” in our Parish to “Parish Outreach” to better identify its purpose. My thanks to Andrea Cook Hewitt and Pat Mack for their work in these areas and THANKS to all those who baked for us on a very busy holiday weekend!
GOD BLESS, Fr. Dan

Though well intentioned extended family, neighbors, or friends, may want to call the parish to put a name on the list – it must be an immediate family member who makes this request! Thank you for helping us to comply with the law and a person’s right to privacy.

Please know of our prayers for you and your loved ones, and please remember us in your prayers.
Gratefully,

HOLIDAY GATHERING CANS & BOTTLES
With many Holiday Parties and Gatherings at this time of year, please remember that our parish collects empty cans and bottle in the Green Shed by the Ballfield. Bags of clean or rinsed empty cans and bottles can be left in the shed. Please remember to only leave empty bottles with a deposit; no water bottles. This has been a very successful fundraiser for our parish over the past 10 years, raising $27,097.55!
PARISH BULLETIN BOARD
Check the Parish Bulletin Board for upcoming events in our area and throughout the Diocese. Many of these events are not listed in the bulletin due to space constraints. Take a moment to look at the notices on the board, updated regularly and located in the entryway to the church near the Mary Garden.
ELECTRONIC BANKING
Many of our parishioners choose to use electronic checks through their bank to make their Offertory contributions to the Parish. You can set this up as a weekly or monthly contribution by visiting your bank and inquiring about electronic giving to your church. We appreciate how much this helps the parish to stay consistent in our level of giving from week to week - even when parishioners might be away for the Winter or extended periods, or when on vacation. Thank you as always for your support!
OFFERTORY ENVELOPES
From time to time we learn that parishioners do not receive their Packet of Offertory Envelopes in any given month. We are not sure if this is a problem with the Post Office or the Envelope Company. Please call Sue in the Office to let us know when this happens – we pay for the postage on them and want to keep track of how often it is happening! Thank you!

Harmony House is a registered 501(c)(3) corporation, and is funded entirely through the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations. Private financial support is essential to sustaining the mission of Harmony House.
Poor Box envelopes are on the left side table in the gathering space and filled envelopes can be placed in the collection basket.
THANK YOU – BULLETIN ADVERTISERS
At this time of year we want to thank all those businesses who advertise in our bulletin throughout the year. We appreciate your support of our Parish in this way. Our bulletin company provides this weekly bulletin - free of charge – to our Parish each week, but they depend on local business advertising for the bulletin, as a source of revenue. Thank you to all those who advertise in our bulletin! For any businesses or parishioners that might be interested in placing an ad, contact John Patrick Publishing at 1-800-333-3166.
REGISTER IN THE PARISH
If anyone is joining us this weekend and would like to make our Parish your “home”, we would love to have you! Please pick up a Parish Registration Card on the tables with the bulletins, fill it out and drop it into the collection basket.

ELMS COLLEGE COLLECTION
A collection is being taken up today for the College of Our Lady of the Elms – the Catholic college in the Springfield Diocese. The Sisters of St. Joseph founded Elms College in 1928 to educate the children of immigrants in the faith that was their heritage, and prepare them to fulfill the promises of the American Dream. Today, Elms continues to fulfill that mission by empowering its students to effect positive change in the community and world by combining a liberal arts education with professional studies while drawing upon the traditions instilled by Sisters of St. Joseph. This collection will be applied to the Founder’s Fund for Excellence, which supports student scholarships. For information about scholarships or to apply, please visit the Elms College website, elms.edu/apply or call Admissions at 413-592-3189.
OUR SOLDIERS ARE REMEMBERED
Just a reminder that each weekend and weekday, a basket is present on our Altar and all soldiers whose names have been submitted to us are placed in that basket and prayed for at all Masses. If you know a man or woman currently serving in active duty, and would like to submit their name to be placed in the basket, please call or e-mail our Parish Office, or place a note with the name in our collection basket, and we will be sure to place their name in the basket on the Altar. May God protect our beloved men and women who protect us!

A CHRISTMAS PRAYER FOR PEACE
Great God of Peace,
Our world has been filled with senseless tragedies,
torn apart by war and marred by acts of hate and prejudice.
Today, as never before,
we pray for Your loving peace.
May seeking peace be the guiding force in the hearts of our world leaders.
May every man, woman and child respect the sanctity of life and
realize how precious all human life is.
We celebrate the birth of Your Son, Jesus and remember His words,
“Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
My peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you.”
This Christmas and always may we embrace Your wonderful gift of peace with courage and conviction. Amen.
