Dental Clinic

The Dental Clinic at the Macon-Bibb County Health Department provides education and clinical services to Children 1 - 18 years old and pregnant women referred through the WIC Program. Our goal is to promote good oral health by offering quality, low cost preventive dental services.

Clinical Services:

• School Dental Screenings

• Exams

• Cleanings

• X-Rays

• Fluoride Varnish

• Fillings

• Referrals

We accept Medicaid, Amerigroup, Peach State, WellCare, United Concordia. A Reduced sliding scale fee is available with proof of county residency and proof of income. Payment is expected at the time of service.

School Dental Health Program:

• Dentist and Hygienist visit county schools to provide dental exams, fluoride treatments, dental sealants on students in K-3rd grade.

• Dental Health Education Presentations demonstrating proper oral hygiene, proper tooth brushing, and flossing skills, healthy snacking, oral disease prevention, and the consequences of tobacco usage.

• Participate in School & Community Health Fairs

Things To Know:

• Cavities are preventable with proper dental care.

• We recommend that parents schedule their babies for their first dental visit once the first baby teeth are visible in the mouth.

• Brush teeth & gums with fluoride toothpaste , & floss at least twice a day

• Visit the dentist twice a year for regular checkups

• Practice healthy eating habits & avoid foods and drinks high in sugar

(i.e: candy, soda, energy drinks, etc.)
