“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

~Martin Luther King JR.~

□ Your assignment is to create power point presentation on ten of the major Civil Rights Movement topics that we are studying. You have been assigned the reading and worksheets of Chapter 27 to give you some background knowledge. Using the information that you read, you will be able to add to your research notes.

□ Each of the topics should be read, researched (library websites, books, text-book, etc.), and analyzed prior to the creation of the power point. Each topic will have a maximum of 2-3 slides (be sure to include the most important information) Each slide will also contain at least 1 picture showing an aspect of the event. (each picture must be different)

□ You may have a maximum of four short bullets per slide. You are highlighting the most important information from each topic.

□ I am more concerned with your knowledge and understanding of the content rather than your ability to cut and paste pictures!

□ There is a rubric provided for you to follow while creating your document.

□ Please print out the power point with no more than three slides on a pages.

The following is a list of the ten topics for your project

1. Plessey v Ferguson 1896

2. Jackie Robinson 1947

3. Brown v Board of Education 1954
