There are a few ways to calculate the percent condensate return in a boiler
system. One simple way would be if you had both a makeup and a feedwater meter. The difference of the two numbers divided by the feedwater multiplied by 100% would be the percent condensate return (of feedwater). If you do not have this luxury, then you can use the conductivities to calculate percent condensate return (of feedwater). See the following equation:
This equation can be greatly simplified if the condensate conductivity is assumed to be 0 ?mhos.
One could also calculate percent condensate return if the makeup rate, steam rate, and boiler cycles were known.
