Interactive Map for California Workforce Development

Interactive Map for California Workforce Development

California Labor Market Information Division has produced an interactive map for the California Workforce Investment Board and other workforce development partners, showing One-Stop Career Centers and affiliates, and related geographic data. The free software, ESRI ArcReader, is used to open and explore the map and data.

The Identify tool can be used to view data about map elements. For example: view addresses and phone numbers of One-Stop Career Centers. Additional tools include a Find tool to locate features on the map, a tool to measure distances, and hyperlinks to external websites.

Data layers include One-Stop Career Centers, Local Workforce Investment Areas, Regional Occupational Program Offices, Community Colleges, Economic Strategy Panel Regions, cities, interstates, counties, and political districts. Layers can be turned on or off to display or hide the symbols on the map.

A help document is included on the CD with the interactive map. The basic tools are explained and short videos show their use interacting with the map and data.

Use the zoom and pan tools to zoom into an area of interest and move around the map.

The Interactive Map Data are available for download at:

For copies of the CD, please contact Labor Market Information Division California Employment Development Department Donna.Bahls@edd. or Marilyn.Smith@edd.

The map was created in ESRI ArcGIS ArcPublisher.
